7 Great Indoor Games To Play With Your Kids

A sick day or bad weather means your child must spend the day inside the house. Spending the day indoors can be just as fun as going to the park. There are plenty of indoor activities that are sure to keep your little one entertained. All you have to do is think outside the box, and coming up with fun-filled games indoor kids will be a breeze.

  1. Build Something New

Work with your child to build something new with items around the house. Use blocks or cards to see how high you can build a tower, and then knock it down so you can build it again. Use pillows, cushions, sheets and boxes to create a fort. Your child will love playing a card game or having a picnic inside their hideout. Do you have Popsicle or craft sticks and glue in the house? Use these supplies to build a small house or an entire city out of sticks.  BUILD SOMETHING

  2. Freeze Dance

There is nothing like a little dancing to brighten up the day, but it is even better to put a twist on it. Start with your child’s favorite playlist, and pause the music at random times. Your child must freeze whenever the music is paused. You can even create a different theme for each song, such as only freezing in animal poses during one song and silly poses during another song.  freeze-dance

  3. Little Car Wash

Start off this game by filling up a large bucket or the bathtub with water. While you are filling the water, ask your child to gather up their cars, trucks, airplanes, helicopters and spaceships. Use sponges, rags, squeeze bottles and spray bottles to create a small car wash. little car wash

  4. Movie Time

All the fun of games indoor kids can make anyone tired, so take a break and watch a movie together. Watch a movie your child does not often pick, rather than one you have seen a hundred times. If you want to add a game to this activity, you can quiz each other on the movie once it is over. Group Of Happy Kids Watching Tv At Home

  5. Treasure Hunt

Arrrgh, dress your little one up and send them on a treasure hunt. You can purchase the treasure, such as jewelry, puzzles and toy coins, from party stores. Stash the items away for a rainy day, and hide them while your child is putting on their pirate accessories. Leave clues around the house or create a treasure map for your child to follow. tresure hunt

  6. Play Pirate Games

The fun of yelling “Arrrgh” and “Shiver me timbers” can continue with different pirate games. Use the couch, cushions and blankets to make a pirate ship. Dress up in pirate accessories, and make swords with paper towel tubes and aluminum foil.
